Pau edge Castres in dour game

Date published: March 12 2017

Pau did their chances of making the play-offs the power of good on Sunday as they defeated Castres 18-12 at Stade du Hameau.

It was far from a classic but Pau won’t mind that as they move third, above Castres and Toulon with Montpellier still to play this weekend.

No tries were scored in the game so the home team were reliant on the boot of fly-half Tom Taylor, who kicked six penalties off the tee.

Benjamin Urdapilleta was Castres’ only scorer as he knocked over four penalties in a disappointing performance from the former champions.
