Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill gave a measured response to rumours that Geoff Parling is leaving at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old England international, who joined from Newcastle in 2009, is reportedly being eyed up by Aviva Premiership rivals Exeter.
And when asked by the Leicester Mercury on the player’s future, Tigers boss Cockerill refused to confirm if Parling was staying or going.
“Geoff is out of contract at the end of the season and, like anything, discussions will go on with him,” said Cockerill to the newspaper.
“Geoff played very well at Sale and I would expect him to be in the Six Nations squad and pushing for a place in the matchday 23.”
