Oyonnax back Silvère Tian has been suspended by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby for 15 months after abusing referee Romain Poite.
Tian was red carded for swearing at Poite before trying to chase him down the tunnel after the game during his side's match with Grenoble back at the start of April.
The 35-year-old's suspension will run until June 2017. Based on the length of the ban, his professional career may well be over.
The LNR's clear response to Tian's actions, saying in a statement that he had been banned for “threatening actions or words against a match official", deserves plenty of credit.
Oyonnax have also been fined €10,000 for Tian's actions.
