Ospreys full-back Dan Evans revealed his side are disappointed despite defeating the Scarlets 12-7 on New Year's Day.

The narrow win means the Ospreys continue to get back on track in the PRO12 after a tough start to the season without their World Cup stars, momentarily moving to sixth in the table.

Evans and the rest of the squad however felt the side missed key chances to possibly secure a bonus-point win, letting themselves down with simple mistakes.

“We’re happy to get the victory but a little bit disappointed in honesty,” Evans told the Ospreys' website.

“We left a couple of tries out there, and perhaps another bonus point. We’ll take the victory but there’s plenty to work on.

“It was basic errors. We were getting into their half, into their 22, and we were spilling the ball.

"There’s a lot that we need to pick up on next week before we play Leinster.”
