Ireland flanker Peter O'Mahony will miss the rest of the Rugby World Cup with a knee injury he picked up in Sunday's win over France.
O'Mahony went off in the second half on a stretcher – the third major injury for Ireland in the game after the departures of Johnny Sexton and Paul O'Connell.
Ireland captain Paul O'Connell is still awaiting the results of scans on his hamstring after being hospitalised overnight in Cardiff, while Sexton is awaiting the outcome of scans on a possible groin injury.
No decision has been made yet by Ireland on a replacement for O'Mahony, with Chris Henry and Jordi Murphy current options in the squad.
Despite those injuries Ireland clinched top spot in Pool D and will now face Argentina in the quarter-finals this weekend.
