Ireland have suffered a blow ahead of the Rugby World Cup after openside flanker Tommy O'Donnell was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
The Ireland team management issued a medical bulletin after Saturday's victory over Wales. Flanker O'Donnell suffered a hip injury in Cardiff.
"Investigations at University Hospital Wales yesterday afternoon confirmed that Tommy O'Donnell suffered a hip dislocation in the game against Wales," read the statement on Monday.
"He will be limited to non-weight bearing activity for at least six weeks and has unfortunately been ruled out of participating in RWC 2015.
"Andrew Trimble will have a a precautionary scan on the foot injury he sustained against Wales."
