North won’t face Clermont

Wales and Northampton Saints winger George North is due to meet with a consultant neurosurgeon over the next two days.

According to the BBC, North will play no part in this week's Champions Cup quarter-final against Clermont.

North recently suffered concussions playing for Wales last November and in this year's Six Nations, before another blow last Friday in the win over Wasps.

Due to the nature of so many knocks to the head in such a short space of time, Northampton are taking no risks with their 22-year-old star player.

Wasps number eight Nathan Hughes, whose contact between his leg and North's head resulted in the latter's concussion, was given a three-week ban by the RFU on Tuesday.
