George North has been ruled out of Wales’ tour of New Zealand and has been released from the squad.

“North suffered a hamstring injury in the first test in Auckland, ruling him out of Wales’ remaining games,” read a statement on Sunday from the WRU.

“Further information will be made available in due course.”

North’s injury could hand an opportunity to one of Tom James or Eli Walker to start the second Test in Wellington. Both players are set to start against the Chiefs on Tuesday.
