Former Wales and Lions scrum-half Dwayne Peel reckons George North should don the number 13 for his country during November.

Former Lions and Wales international scrum-half Dwayne Peel believes that George North should wear number 13 for his country in the November Tests.

Wales are currently light at thirteen after Jonathan Davies dislocated a shoulder while Scott Williams and Cory Allen also suffered injuries last week.

And with Test matches fast approaching against Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa, Peel has said it would be wise to shift North to centre.

“He has got the qualities to play there,” he told BBC Sport.

“If needs must and he has to go in there then so be it I suppose.

“But he will be thrown in a position that he hasn’t probably played a lot of rugby.

“Whether it’s a gamble or not I don’t know and it will be probably be down to how he’s feeling about it.”
