Conflicting reports are emerging in France over a potential move for Ma’a Nonu to Toulon after the World Cup.

Conflicting reports are emerging in France over a potential move for Ma’a Nonu to Toulon after the World Cup.

Canal+ announced this evening that the 32-year-old centre had come to an agreement with the French side to move to Mayol for the 2015/16 season.

However L’Equipe have since claimed that the Nonu deal is not yet done, and that instead the confusion comes from the fact that Samu Manoa has apparently agreed to a move to the South of France.

That does not mean that Boudjellal has given up on Nonu, who is one of ‘Les Quatre Fantastiques’ targeted by the Toulon president for next season.

One of those four players, believed to be Nonu, Israel Dagg, Dan Carter and Richie McCaw, has already signed according to Boudjellal, but it seems it’s not Nonu.

“Of the ‘Fantastic Four’, only ‘The Thing’ has signed, and that’s not Nonu,” Boudjellal told L’Equipe.

Despite those claims, Canal+ maintain that Nonu will be joining the French champions next season.
