No Wallabies in Australian Sevens team

No Australian fifteens players will represent the Australian Sevens team in the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Wallaby flyers Henry Speight and Nick Cummins were both in line to play for Australia in the games but could not recover from their injuries in time. 

Nick Malouf seemingly ruptured his ACL earlier in the year which would have ruled him out of the competition. But the injury was not as bad as previously thought, allowing the player to be considered for selection. 

John Porch has been added to the team, the youngster will add some valuable pace to the Australian men's side.

The Australian women's team coaching staff have kept a very similar team that won the World Series earlier this year. 

Gemma Etheridge, the Australian Sevens stalwart was also not excpected to play after she too ruptured her ACL theridge. But Etheridge had LARS surgery that has quickened her healing process and she should be ready in time for the games.
