Zebre head coach Gianluca Guidi had no complaints with the decision to halt their match against Connacht at half-time due to the weather.
The Italians were leading 22-10 at the break thanks to tries from centre Tommaso Boni, blindside Maxime Mbandà and openside Jacopo Sarto.
But the two teams did not return for the second half as the weather worsened in Parma, leading to referee Ian Davies calling the fixture off.
"The safety of the players must always come first. Of course we are disappointed it was stopped when we were in such a good position, but there was nothing which could be done," Guidi told PRO12 Rugby regarding the decision, with opposing head coach Pat Lam also agreeing with the call.
Lam said: "It was the correct decision, safety is the first priority. Nobody expected the lightning and the rain and the hail, and then once it went past 20 minutes, it is out of control of both teams."
