No citing against McCaw

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw has not been cited for an alleged use of the elbow on South Africa's Francois Louw.

Video footage circulated on social media during the match suggesting McCaw had made contact with the Springbok flanker whilst running around the back of a ruck, incorrectly linking the footage to Louw's cut to the head which forced him to leave the field minutes later.

World Rugby confirmed on Sunday as expected that there would be no action against McCaw and that he had not been cited, leaving him free to play in the final.

All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen swiftly dismissed any suggestion that the incident was serious earlier on Sunday.
