Scotland prop Ryan Grant has not fractured his ankle but will only find out later this week the full extent of the injury he suffered against Ireland.

The loosehead prop left the field of play in the 44th minute having sustained the injury in the lead up to Scotland's second of three tries at the Aviva Stadium.

And after an X-ray, the Scotland medical team revealed there was no break.

Meanwhile tighthead prop Jon Welsh, who left the match in the 47th minute for a HIA (head injury assessment) which confirmed his concussion, is now symptom free and has begun the graduated return-to-play protocol with the team.

Openside flanker Hugh Blake dislocated a finger in the Test match but returned to full training on Monday while hooker Fraser Brown has mild hamstring discomfort and will be subject to further management by the medical team.

Consequently, Kevin Bryce has joined the national team as a precaution.
