The Sharks have named their squad that has flown to Christchurch ahead of their clash with the Crusaders, with Springbok Tendai Mtawarira absent.
Jake White's men travelled on Sunday ahead of the Super Rugby semi but were without Mtawarira and also lock Anton Bresler due to an injury.
Marco Wentzel has subsequently been included as back-up despite Stephan Lewies being fit to travel, with boss White explaining the situation.
“He was just sore before the Highlanders game, and we didn't want to risk him and then have him come off early,” White told the Sharks' website.
On the absence of Mtawarira, White believes Thomas du Toit and Dale Chadwick are doing a good job in the Bok prop's continued absence.
“Thomas was outstanding, we have him and Dale. With Beast only 50-50, we've stuck with Thomas and Dale, and that's not too bad considering how they performed,” he added.
