Saracens have announced that Romanian international Catalin Fercu will join the English club at the end of the month from Timisoara Saracens.
The 28-year-old, who has played 72 times for his country, becomes the first player to secure a contract through the Saracens Global Network.
“Catalin made a strong impression when he played for us against Gloucester at the HAC in May, and we are delighted he has now agreed to move to north London. He is strong, tenacious and skilful and is equally capable on the wing and at full-back,” said director of rugby Mark McCall.
Fercu added: “I have an enormous desire to play in my new team, but I am aware I have to work twice as hard to reach their level. It is a new stage in my career as a sportsman and I wish to live as many beautiful moments as I did with Timisoara.”
