Clermont have rewarded full-back Nick Abendanon for his excellent form over the 2014/15 season with a three-year contract extension at the club.
The 29-year-old former Bath and England back has inked a deal that expires in June 2018 but also has an option to extend for another campaign in France.
"Nick is a model of integration who perfectly fits our game and progresses it through his performance and involvement," a delighted Clermont's sporting director Jean-Marc Lhermet told Press Association Sport on Friday.
Abendanon joined the Top 14 outfit ahead of last season and impressed throughout, with his strong form continuing into the early 2015/16 rounds.
Remarkably the full-back only won two caps for England, with Clermont head coach Franck Azema delighted to have secured his man on a long-term deal.
"We can only be satisfied and happy to extend Nick's contract for several seasons," he said.
"Throughout last season he took the initiative and pushed the group forward.
"We have the ambition to win titles; for this, in addition to recruiting high-class players, we must be able to keep our best players. This is what we have done by extending with Nick."
