Fiji international wing Timoci Nagusa has not yet returned to Top 14 club side Montpellier, leaving his future at the Altrad Stadium in doubt.
The 29-year-old, who scored 15 tries last term, was in his home country during the off-season but has still to make the journey to France.
According to Midi Olympique, Nagusa misplaced his credit card and therefore cannot book a flight, which has upset coach Jake White.
"After an operation on his groin, it was understood that he would have an extra week's rest, but it's been almost a month now," said White.
"As soon as he gets here, we need to have a serious explanation. If the problem is serious, we can discuss it, but it's disrespectful to the club and his team-mates," added club boss Abdelatif Benazzi.
Montpellier lost their opening game of the Top 14 season, going down 20-12 at Toulouse.
