Lwazi Mvovo and Sikhumbuzo Notshe were released from the Springbok squad and have returned to their home provinces on Tuesday.

They remain part of the overall Bok squad but will not feature in the Rugby Championship opener on Saturday against Argentina.

As a precaution, Francois Hougaard will not be considered for selection for the first two Tests against Argentina. He returned from the 2016 Rio Olympics with a knee niggle and following evaluation, Hougaard is currently undergoing rehabilitation with a view to return to fitness and participate later in the Rugby Championship.

Meanwhile, prop Trevor Nyakane is making very good progress with his ankle recovery and there is a good chance he will be considered for the 26-man Bok touring squad to Argentina.

The Springboks are currently busy with preparations for the first Rugby Championship Test against Argentina on Saturday at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
