Ireland and Leinster back Luke Fitzgerald's domestic season is over after undergoing shoulder surgery last weekend.
The 27-year-old has a long history of injury problems, with the latest setback ruling him out of the final games in the Pro12 season.
Leinster coach Leo Cullen added that he didn't expect the injury to rule Fitzgerald out of the Rugby World Cup with Ireland.
Fitzgerald has played just five Tests for Ireland since 2011 but started on the wing in the final match of this year's Six Nations, when Ireland clinched back-to-back titles.
“Basically it’s a repair to [Luke’s] labarum, he suffered a bit of damage there," Cullen told the Irish Examiner.
“He only got it done at the weekend so it’s a bit early to say.
"We’ll find out more as the week goes on in terms of how long it might be. He will certainly be out for the next two weeks.
"I don’t think it’s a World Cup issue.”
