More injury woe for Connacht

Date published: December 27 2016

Connacht have been hit by more injury blows, which include Ultan Dillane and Finlay Bealham, who join several other players on the sideline.

Second-row Dillane sustained an ankle injury during the final stages against Ulster and awaits a scan to determine the extent of the problem.

Meanwhile, prop Bealham sustained a head injury in the same game at the Kingspan Stadium and is now set to follow return to play protocols.

Another injury from that fixture was to number eight John Muldoon, who sustained a minor thigh problem and will be monitored during this week. Danie Poolman is also set to be monitored after he sustained a head injury against Ulster and will now follow the return to play protocols.

These players join fellow backs Marnitz Boshoff, Shane O'Leary, Craig Ronaldson, Peter Robb, Bundee Aki, Stacey Ili, Eoin Griffin, Cian Kelleher, Josh Rowland and Darragh Leader in being absent for the PRO12 champions, who face Munster at the Sportsground this Saturday.
