Munster will be without hooker Duncan Casey for a significant period after he ruptured a pectoral muscle against Treviso, it was confirmed.
The update was released by the Irish province after a scan. He will now undergo surgery, with a timeline for his return to be set post-op.
Meanwhile, fellow hooker Mike Sherry's prognosis after a knee injury he suffered during the same Champions Cup pool fixture was much more positive as he sustained a mild ligament injury. 27-year-old Sherry will now undergo a short-term rehab programme for the next few weeks.
