Brive captain Arnaud Mela looks set to end his career with the Top 14 outfit after extending his contract there by two years on Monday.

The team announced the news, with the 34-year-old having been capped four times during former France coach Marc Lievremont’s tenure.

Mela has been at the Top 14 club since arriving from Albi in 2008 and the two-year contract extension will take his stay up to June 2017.

The contract is part of a programme put in place by the club and sponsors to prepare players for life after their sporting career is over.
