Western Force back-row Ben McCalman is set to miss the start of Australia's Rugby Championship campaign due to a fractured cheekbone.
McCalman's Super Rugby season came to a premature end after he sustained the injury in his side's 33-20 defeat to the Brumbies in Perth at the weekend.
The number eight will also miss the Force's final match of the season against the Rebels in Melbourne on Friday.
Force head coach Michael Foley said although McCalman, who has played 38 Tests for Australia, will spend time on the sidelines during the Rugby Championship, he should be fit for the World Cup.
"He will be impacted going into the first part of the international season, but certainly not overall and certainly not into the World Cup," he told Seven West Media.
McCalman recently signed a new three-year contract with the Western Force. Australia's Rugby Championship campaign kicks off at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday, July 18 when they host South Africa.
