Mark McCall has praised his side after Saracens’ 40-19 victory over Harlequins at Wembley on Saturday.
Saracens put Harlequins to the sword in bright sunshine under the arch four tries and 20 points from the boot of Owen Farrell.
The win sees Sarries qualify for the Premiership semi-finals for the seventh successive season and McCall also spoke of the exciting months ahead.
McCall spoke of his side’s performance after the game.
“It was a hugely pleasing performance because we’re going big game, after big game, after big game, after big game.” McCall told the Saracens website.
“Last week was big for us and to have a six-day turnaround and then to show to show some of our qualities, not all of our rugby was perfect but I was pleased with the attacking qualities and the effort, everyone put in a shift.”
He explained: “The first seven months are about getting into the strong position we’re in now, progressing in the competitions that we’re interested in.
“Thankfully, we managed to win the Quarter Final of the Champions Cup last week and are in a decent position entering these last two months of the Premiership. There are lots of things to be excited about now.” He added.
The Sarries Director of Rugby also allayed fears of serious injury to Mako Vunipola after the prop was taken off before half-time with an injury:
“He just got a little bit of a bang to his knee before half-time.”, McCall said, “I don’t think it’s anything serious at all and we just wanted to be careful with the big game in two weeks’ time.”
