Bath head coach Tabai Matson hopes George Ford’s future at the club gets resolved soon.
Ford’s future has been subject to much debate and speculation over the last few weeks as the England fly-half ponders his future. Ford is contracted until 2018, but has a buyout clause.
“I’m sure in the coming days there will be resolution and we can all move forward in a happy place,” Matson told the Bath Chronicle.
“As with all our retention conversations – everyone wants to know. He wants to know, we want to know, the fans want to know.”
Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder has admitted the speculation and debate surrounding Ford had become a “major distraction”.
Matson said the issue surrounding Ford is complex, but he prefers to focus on preparing the team every week rather than dwell on what the future holds.
“I’m kind of out of the loop of a lot of these conversations, so for me it’s just selection week to week and what happens out on the grass here at Farleigh,” he said.
Blackadder has not set a deadline for when he wants Ford to make a decision on whether to stay or leave Bath.
