Former Springbok lock Victor Matfield is set to make his playing return when the Bulls face the Stormers in Saturday's pre-season game in Polokwane.
The 36-year-old retired from rugby after the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand but recently announced that he'll return to play in this year's Super Rugby competition.
According to the Beeld website, Matfield looked good during line-out training at Loftus Versfeld's B-field on Monday.
It appears that only some administrative issues at SARU could prevent him from returning to action this weekend.
Matfield was the Bulls' line-out coach in recent years and will use this year's Super Rugby tournament to try and convince Bok coach Heyneke Meyer that he's still good enough to play at international level.
Saturday's clash kicks off at 5pm in Polokwane which is Matfield's town of birth.
