England prop Joe Marler and fly-half Owen Farrell have both been cited for offences in this weekend’s Champions Cup semi-finals.

Details of the disciplinary hearings will follow in the next few days.

Citing complaint – Owen Farrell (Saracens)

EPCR received a citing complaint against the Saracens fly-half Farrell following the Champions Cup semi-final against Wasps on Saturday, April 23.

Farrell is alleged to have committed a dangerous tackle on the Wasps scrum-half, Dan Robson, in the 51st minute of the match at Madejski Stadium in contravention of Law 10.4 (e).

Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (e), carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 2 weeks; Mid-Range: 6 weeks; Top End: 10 to 52 weeks

The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Stefano Marrama (Italy).

Citing complaint – Simon McIntyre (Wasps)

EPCR has received a citing complaint against the Wasps replacement prop, Simon McIntyre.

McIntyre is alleged to have kicked the Saracens second row, Maro Itoje, in the 69th minute of the match at the Madejski Stadium in contravention of Law 10.4 (c).

Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (c), carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 4 weeks; Mid-Range: 8 weeks; Top End: 12 to 52 weeks

The complaint was also made by the match Citing Commissioner, Stefano Marrama (Italy).

Following the same match, Maro Itoje (Saracens) has been issued with a Citing Commissioner Warning for playing McIntyre without the ball in the 69th minute in contravention of Law 10.4 (f).

Citing complaint – Joe Marler (Harlequins)

EPCR has received a citing complaint against the Harlequins prop, Joe Marler, following the Challenge Cup semi-final match against Grenoble on Friday, April 22.

Marler is alleged to have kicked the Grenoble hooker, Arnaud Héguy, in the 26th minute of the match at The Twickenham Stoop in contravention of Law 10.4 (c).

Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (c), carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 4 weeks; Mid-Range: 8 weeks; Top End: 12 to 52 weeks

The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Iain Goodall (Scotland).

Following the same match, the Grenoble replacement, Fabrice Estebanez, has been issued with a Citing Commissioner Warning for striking the Harlequins wing, Marland Yarde, in the 61st minute in contravention of Law 10.4 (f).
