The Stormers and Western Province have been hit with injuries with Frans Malherbe, Nizaam Carr and Siya Kolisi all sidelined.

Stormers prop and co-captain Malherbe has been ruled out for three months due to a neck injury.

Carr suffered a shoulder injury and will be monitored by the medical staff, and at this stage he is expected to be out for two weeks.

While Kolisi sustained a Syndesmosis injury in the opening stages of the Stormers’ Super Rugby quarter-final against the Chiefs at Newlands and will also be out for three months.

This means that all three players will be out for the start of the Currie Cup that begins on August 5. Western Province's first game is a tough one as they play the Blue Bulls in Pretoria.
