Makos show their class in Wellington

Tasman made it five victories out of five in the ITM Cup as they pulled away from Wellington in the second-half, triumphing 36-17 at Westpac Stadium.

It was 6-5 to the Makos at the break as Marty Banks' two penalty goals were responded to when Frae Wilson crossed for the home side on 24 minutes.

Despite the Lions going in front two minutes after the interval when Jackson Garden-Bachop scored, the second-half was all about a lethal Tasman side.

Tries from Pete Samu, Kieron Fonotia, Marco Kotze and Shane Christie late on secured the try bonus-point as they showed their superior class in all areas.

Wellington would score a consolation try through wing Wes Goosen on 80 minutes, but the Lions were well beaten by the Premiership pace-setters.
