Lowe positive ahead of Tasman campaign

Departing Chiefs wing James Lowe is now switching his focus from Super Rugby to the Mitre 10 Cup with Tasman as he looks to leave on a high.

The 25-year-old, who will move to Leinster after this campaign with the Makos, is not letting their Super Rugby semi-final defeat upset him.

He has already moved his attention to Tasman matters and wants to lift two pieces of silverware during the season, explaining to Stuff: "I have got it all planned out in my head. Otago is going to take the Shield off [Canterbury] and then we've got Otago [three weeks] later."

"We have only had one Shield challenge since I have been there and we almost knocked them over, so hopefully we will get one this year."

Several players and head coach Dave Rennie now depart the Chiefs, with Lowe admitting while it is sad, change brings with it opportunity.

"Farewells aren't always easy," busy wing Lowe added. "It's not a what if. Everyone is going on a new adventure. A lot of boys to Europe and other boys to Mitre 10 Cup squads. We will see each other in the future, it's not the end of the world. The sun is going to come up."
