Lowe on All Blacks radar?

Chiefs stalwart James Lowe has enhanced his chances of receiving an All Blacks call-up after impressing in his side's win over Wales on Tuesday.

Playing in the more unfamiliar position of full-back, the Chiefs winger was one of the standout performers as the two-time Super Rugby champions claimed a memorable 40-7 victory against their international visitors.

The 23-year-old was superb with ball in hand but also did well on defence and finished the match with a seven-point haul after scoring a try and slotting a conversion.

His performance has led to speculation that he might be in All Blacks coach Steve Hansen's plans for the the Rugby Championship and end of year tour, although Lowe said getting an international call-up was the furthest thing from his mind.

"I didn't really have that in the back of my mind," he told Fairfax Media

"I wanted to perform well and I really wanted to get the win.

"Hopefully, one day.

"I've just got to keep plying my trade, hopefully bigger honours will come."
