Back-to-back Super Rugby champions the Chiefs have added to their solid list of new recruits for 2014 after signing Tasman wing James Lowe.
The 21-year-old has signed until 2015 on the back of his strong form in this year's ITM Cup.
“James is having a great season,” said Chiefs head coach Dave Rennie.
“He is quick, powerful and adds a point of difference to our backline. He is a quality young man and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Excited by what has happened at the Chiefs over the last two seasons, Lowe said he can't wait to be part of it and made the decision to move north despite interest from a number of other sides.
Lowe has played 14 games for Tasman ITM Cup team, making his debut for the Mako's against Canterbury in 2012. He was part of the successful NZ Schools team that beat Australia in 2010.
