Wales Sevens regular Tom Williams has signed for the Scarlets on a year-long loan from PRO12 rivals Cardiff Blues, it was confirmed on Monday.

Bridgend born Williams, brother of Wales scrum-half Lloyd and son of former British and Irish Lion and Wales scrum-half Brynmor, is moving for 2015/16.

The versatile 24-year-old, who can play at both full-back and wing, links up with former Cardiff Blues team-mate Harry Robinson at the Scarlets this season.

Robinson is expected to miss the start of 2015/16 as he recovers from surgery to a neck injury sustained in the closing stages of the 2014/15 campaign while fellow winger Jordan Williams is progressing well from shoulder surgery.
