The Lions could face the Blues at Emirates Airline Park on Saturday without fly-half Elton Jantjies, it was revealed on Monday.

Head coach Johan Ackermann has been hit with injuries to a few of his in-form players so far this year, with playmaker Jantjies set to undergo a fitness test on Thursday to determine his availability for the weekend.

After having lost their entire first and second-choice front-row to injury, there is some good news for the Johannesburg side as Malcolm Marx and Julian Redelinghuys are available for selection against the Kiwi side.

Marx and Redelinghuys both sustained injuries in the 29-22 victory over the Stormers in Round Eight.
