Jacques van Rooyen, Warren Whiteley and Steph de Wit will all be in the starting XV when the Lions play against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Whiteley, who will not captain the team this weekend, is expected to start at number eight, a position that was held up by Fabian Booysen during the commanding victory against the Sharks last weekend.
Booysen will return to the bench this week. Joining Booysen on the bench will be Kwagga Smith, who started at the side of the scrum against the Sharks. He has been replaced by De Wit.
Ruan Dreyer will make way for Van Rooyen, who actually started the last fixture on the bench, in a straight swap at prop. Despite Whiteley's return, Jaco Kriel will hold on to the captaincy against the Cheetahs, as the team strives for consistency at a critical stage of the season.
The Lions backline, which was not as prolific as it could have been against the Sharks, will remain unchanged this weekend.
