Sale Sharks centre Johnny Leota has signed a new two-year extension deal with the Premiership club.

The powerful Samoan international has been a stalwart member of the squad for the last four years, making 102 appearances for the Sharks, since joining the club in 2011. He's scored 21 tries during his time at the club, including a try at the weekend against Saracens.

Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: "Johnny's combination with Sam James, Mark Jennings and Sammy Tuitupou has been the foundation of our three quarters.

"He is strong in the tackle and loves to attack too. His try last weekend against Saracens was one of his trademarks."

Johnny Leota said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the club and my family are settled in the North West. I am looking forward to playing my part at the club for the next two years at least," said Leota.
