Japan star Michael Leitch thinks that England's players are set for plenty of hard work under Eddie Jones which might catch them off guard.

Leitch captained Japan at last year's Rugby World Cup where the team achieved unprecedented success under the coaching of Jones and his assistant Steve Borthwick, who are now both working with England.

The intensity of Japan's strength and conditioning work is no secret, but it resulted in a shock win over South Africa and eventually three wins out of four in the World Cup group stage.

Leitch, who will be back in Super Rugby with the Chiefs in 2016, described Jones as "somewhere between a devil and an angel" when summing up his personality as a head coach.

"The English team might be in for a shock,' Leitch told the Daily Mail.

"Eddie's somewhere between a devil and an angel. He works extremely hard and he's good at taking people with him.

"The mind-set definitely has to change if you want to keep up with him.

"If you're caught slacking or you've not done your work, he'll come down on you like thunder and lightning."
