Leinster focus from Warburton

Cardiff Blues flanker Sam Warburton has urged his side to kick on next week when they face Leinster in a game that is key to their play-off hopes.

Thursday’s 11-9 win at the Dragons capped a festive period that saw the Blues claim two wins to one loss before a break until January 10.

And Warburton wants that fixture to be a positive one at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park as they hope a victory can give the team another shunt.

“We’ve got Leinster at home, which is tough next up in 10 days’ time, and then into European rugby,” the international told Cardiff Blues.

“We won’t have another Pro12 game for a few weeks after that, so it’s quite important we win that next one and we’ll edge closer to that top six then.

“I think there’s still a bit of a gap off that sixth place, we’ve still got to get some results.

“But looking at the three Christmas derbies, it’s two out of three wins for us, which isn’t bad and something to build upon.”
