Leicester will have to wait a bit longer to have Ben Youngs back in their side following England's Rugby World Cup exit.

Youngs, who captained the club last season, is set for another week's rest as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

The issue, first picked up against Wales, was seemingly made worse by Youngs playing against Australia the following week and as a result his club are taking a cautious approach over his return, with Youngs possibly set to miss Leicester's next two games against Harlequins and Wasps.

"Ben Youngs is still likely to have another week off because he has come back from England with an ankle issue," Leicester boss Richard Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury.

"We have to make sure that is right before he comes back into the squad."

Cockerill went on to suggest that were unhappy with the way Youngs' injury had been treated by the England medical staff.

He said: "I have to be careful what I say but his knee is not in ideal condition. It has not been rehabbed as thoroughly as we would have done."
