Lee improvement pleases Pivac

Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac believes tighthead prop Samson Lee is getting back to top form after impressing against Glasgow on Saturday.

The Wales international front-row, who earlier in 2015 battled back from an Achilles injury to feature at the Rugby World Cup, has been working to build strength in his leg over recent weeks.

And Pivac thinks that is paying dividends for the player and region as Lee enjoyed a strong outing at the scrum last weekend.

"We are doing a lot of work behind the scenes to strengthen Samson's leg," Pivac told the South Wales Evening Post.

"He has felt a little stronger every week and he is in pretty good shape now.

"There is a little smile on his face because he was happy with how the scrum went.

"If you look back at the game last week they pushed us around in the last few minutes and we were also under pressure throughout the game.

"It was a massive turnaround and it is amazing what a week can do in rugby. The scrum was one of the pleasing aspects."
