Toulon have announced the signing of Rugby League star Ben Barba until the end of the season.
Barba was an NRL winner last year with the Cronulla Sharks, their first title, before being suspended indefinitely by the NRL in November after testing positive for cocaine.
The 27-year-old was subsequently released by the Sharks and spent 28 days at a rehabilitation clinic in Thailand.
Toulon expect Barba to play at full-back but added that he can cover in midfield and at fly-half and scrum-half.
He is expected to arrive in Toulon next week and will be in contention for selection for Toulon’s next Top 14 match at home to Lyon on February 18.
