Bulls loose forward Lappies Labuschagné will be leaving the Bulls for Japan side, Kubota Spears, ahead of next season.

The 27-year-old former Cheetahs captain's contract does not however, like most of his fellow countrymen, allow him to return to Pretoria for next season's Super Rugby instalment.

The split-contract is the most sought after agreement that foreign players are seeking when agreeing to sign for teams in the Far East.

The Spears are under the tutelage of the former Bulls head coach Frans Ludeke and in addition to Labuschagné has also secured the signature of the current Kings fly-half Louis Fouché.

Labuschagné and Fouché will join Lions centre Lionel Mapoe and former Bulls second-rower Grant Hattingh who are all currently contracted to the Japan club side.
