Michael Cheika has been dealt a major blow with the news that centre Tevita Kuridrani will be missing against England on Saturday.

The powerful outside centre is suffering from an ankle injury that he picked up at the weekend against Ireland.

Tests on Monday showed that he had a low grade syndesmosis injury and as a result he will miss the clash at Twickenham.

That deprives Cheika of one of his biggest attacking threats, and will likely see Adam Ashley-Cooper shift inside to centre from the wing.

Australia have lost their last two Tests, Ireland and France, and dropped to fifth in the world rankings this week, their lowest-ever position.

If Cheika chooses not to move Ashley-Cooper, Kurtley Beale could return to the starting lineup after making a comeback appearance off the bench in Dublin.
