Kruis hands England injury scare

England have retained 25 players to prepare for Saturday’s opening Six Nations fixture against France at Twickenham.

George Kruis (Saracens) will go for further medical assessment on Wednesday to determine the extent of a knee injury picked-up in training on Tuesday.

Maro Itoje is set to start in the back row at blindside flanker while England have retained three loosehead props – Joe Marler, Matt Mullan and Ellis Genge.
