Cardiff Blues have confirmed that scrum-half Tavis Knoyle has been released from the remainder of his contract to join the Dragons.
The 26-year-old number nine joined Wales' capital region from Gloucester in 2014 and went on to make 32 appearances, scoring two tries.
He has now been released to pursue new challenges with the Dragons and leaves with Cardiff Blues wishing him well at his new region.
Dragons' head coach Kingsley Jones acknowledged that he had long been an admirer of Wales international scrum-half Knoyle, who is approaching 100 regional games in addition to his experience in the Premiership.
"Having quality players vying for places in all positions is vital for our development," said Jones.
"Tavis has a skill set that will compliment the strengths of both Charlie Davies and Sarel Pretorius, and he is someone who will certainly make selection for the scrum-half slot even more competitive."
Knoyle added: "I am delighted to be joining the Dragons and am excited by the obvious potential in the region. I am also looking forward to working hard, contributing to the ongoing development of the squad and challenging for a place in the starting XV."
