Ulster have completed the signing of second-row Ronald Raaymakers, who will join the province from Counties Manukau on a short-term contract.

The 24-year-old New Zealand U20 representative, who has played 50 times for Counties, is set to provide cover for injured pair Iain Henderson and Dan Tuohy and after Lewis Stevenson, Neil McComb and Franco van der Merwe, offers the coaching team with a fourth second-row option.

“It has always been an ambition of mine to play overseas and when the opportunity came up to join Ulster Rugby I had no hesitation in saying yes,” Raaymakers, who will arrive following his ITM Cup commitments, told Ulster Rugby.

“I look forward to joining up with the squad next month and to playing my part in helping Ulster Rugby be successful this season.”
