Springbok coach Allister Coetzee says that prop Steven Kitshoff is likely to be in the squad against Ireland on Saturday.

Reserve loose-head prop Trevor Nyakane suffered an ankle injury over the weekend in the Springboks' second Test against Ireland where they won 32-26 in Johannesburg. Nyakane was advised against practicing with the rest of the team. If Nyakane cannot recover in time, Kitshoff would then replace him on the bench.

"Trevor is battling with that injury, so there’s a big chance that Steven could feature this Saturday," said Coetzee.

"I know a lot has been made of me bringing back Steven from his club in France and then not playing him. But I have always had a long-term plan for this player. I want him to eventually move back to South Africa, as I believe he can be an asset to this team in the next few years and even feature at the 2019 World Cup."
