The Kings have completed the signing of former Junior Springbok wing Wandile Mjekevu, who will join the Super Rugby side on a loan deal.
Mjekevu was confirmed as a new arrival by Southern Kings Chief Operating Officer, Charl Crous, with his move from the Sharks well timed.
The Kings recently lost Luzuku Vulindlu to a hamstring tear and are also currently without backline options Malcolm Jaer and Siyanda Grey.
"We have negotiated with the Sharks to loan Mjekevu to the Southern Kings for the remainder of the season and have followed all the necessary requirements to record the changes with SANZAAR," said Crous.
Mjekevu, 25, represented South Africa in the Junior World Championships in both 2010 and 2011. He began his first-class career with the Golden Lions before in 2012 he moved to the Sharks.
The following year Mjekevu signed for Top 14 outfit Perpignan and returned to the Sharks in 2015.
