Kieran Keane to leave Connacht

Connacht head coach Kieran Keane will leave Connacht after just one season, despite initially having signed a three-year contract with the Galway outfit.

Connacht endured a disappointing season, winning just seven of their 21 league games and finishing second last in their Conference, just ahead of Zebre, while they were knocked out of the Challenge Cup at the quarter-final stage by Gloucester.

And according to the Irish Independent, an announcement confirming Keane's exit is expected to be made in the coming days.

It represents an anti-climactic ending as much was expected from the former All Black in his first stint in Europe after having led the Tasman Makos to Mitre 10 Cup glory in 2013.
